ให้ศึกษาเรื่องใดเรื่องหนึ่งเกี่ยวกับภาษา วรรณกรรมหรือเขมรศึกษาตามกลุ่มวิชาที่นิสิตเลือกเรียน โดยมีกระบวนการศึกษาถูกต้องตามระเบียบวิธีวิจัย มีการวิเคราะห์อย่างมีหลักวิชา มีความเชื่อมั่นและเที่ยงตรงทางวิชาการ สามารถนำผลการ
ศึกษาไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการพัฒนาชีวิตสังคม เพิ่มพูนองค์ความรู้ทางวิชาการเขมรศึกษา ทั้งนี้โดยได้รับความเห็นชอบจากคณะกรรมการบริหารหลักสูตรและอยู่ในความดูแลของอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษา
